What is the Train Pull

The train pull consists of a team of twenty people grasping a rope to see how fast and far they can pull a real, live, working, locomotive built back in 1952!!!Each pull is truly an attempt for a new world record!! To our knowledge, there is only one other event like it in the world held in Maryland its time to bring the world record to Nelsonville, Ohio.

Why...

That's simple, to raise funds for the people who have Autism and other developmental disabilities. For now there are too few services in South East Ohio and families have to travel too far to get the help they need. HAVAR INC has committed to changing that and creating new services, facilities and trained staff. All this is necessary to help battle a condition that now affects 1 child of every 110 (1 of every 70 males), and has grown a staggering2300% in Ohio since the last census..and we need your help! We are pulling a 270 ton train after all it takes a team!

Here is how ,the fund raising works!

One, Five, Ten and more people join together to make a team of twenty members, men and women alike, of all ages.
Each member is asked to raise a minimum of $25.00 dollars for the entry fee.
A complete team entry fee is only $500 dollars. (This is a minimum.)

All funds that are raised stay in Athens and surrounding counties and are used for local citizens. We are learning how to make a real difference. The Train Pull and the money raised will help educate families, train staff, build resources and serve people who's lives can be helped with just a helping hand from you.

How can you help?

It's easy, you can choose to enter a team from your office, or you may choose to sponsor some of your friends, family or associates.
